UX Researcher

Immediate need for a UX Researcher for our customer, a major healthcare insurance organization, in Reston, VA (primarily remote, 1-2 visits per month in Reston is required). We are looking for a focused UX Researcher to focus on UX strategy, UX research and usability studies. This role is expected to make significant contributions to organizational objectives directly affecting the user experience and our products. Responsibilities include:

50% - UX Research to lead UX research phase. Define UX research technique. Recruit user research participants. Conduct stakeholder interviews, user interviews. Deliver user research findings or reports. Conduct competitive analysis, market assessment, heuristic evaluation and deliver result or reports. Develop personas, empathy maps and user journey maps. Perform quantitative, qualitative user testing and compile finding reports. Mentoring other team members on the research technique.

50% - UX Strategy & Planning to define UX strategy for the product. Create UX roadmap. Plan UX activities and deliverables.
Define UX metrics and use that to improve the user experience through out product lifecycle; leveraging web analytics where required.

Required Skills

- Bachelor Degree is required. In lieu of a degree, 4 additional years of experience is required
- Minimum of 6 years of professional User/UX Research experience. Ability to Conduct user research for software/web-based products.
- SW Tools: PowerPoint and any white board related tool, preference is Mural.
- Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) in order to conduct SME interviews to gather user pain points and journey habits within a digital product.
- Hands-on experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Hands-on experience working with a variety of research activities, including: workshop, surveys, card sorting, user testing, etc.
- Hands-on experience to work on UX research and strategy deliverables including lean canvas, personas, journey maps, service blueprint, story mapping, etc.
- Curious and creative; enjoy complex issues and problem solving
- Guide stakeholders to translate insights into opportunities
- Actively monitor and analyze research, data, and trends from internal sources, and industry insights to inform and optimize the overall approach
