Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II (SSM II), the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) supervises and directs administrative and analytical staff in the Project Quality Management Section of the Office of Quality Assurance. This position plans, directs, and organizes the daily operations of the unit, which is responsible for conducting statewide quality assessments and implementing initiatives to improve delivery of services and supports, satisfaction, and personal outcomes for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The SSM I provides high-level data and technical expertise, coordination, project management, coaching, training, and leadership to the section staff for the development and implementation of a complex quality management program that is critical to assessing the performance of the state's developmental services system and to improving services in the future.
Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave.

Under Government Code 14200, this position is a hybrid, in-office/telework position, and may be subject to change. Incumbent can be required to report to the office, or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and/or cancelled at any time. Incumbent must live and work in California. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
