Job Description

We are partnered with a respected Civil Engineering Firm seeking a talented Civil 3D Designer to join their team. This role supports project management teams on residential and commercial land development projects, producing high-quality design deliverables using Autodesk Civil 3D while collaborating closely with engineers and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed plans, profiles, and technical drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D with minimal guidance.
• Develop construction and planning documents, including topographic contours, elevations, cross-sections, and preliminary design drawings.
• Create CAD files for grading, stormwater management, and street layouts accurately and efficiently.
• Analyze sketches, notes, and other input to determine the best approach for completing drawings independently.
• Produce Masterplans and plats for land development projects.
• Maintain project organization, keeping engineers informed of progress and ensuring files are accessible to team members.
• Adapt to changing project priorities and assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in Computer-Aided Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in residential subdivision design.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including creating, editing, and managing CAD files with minimal oversight.
• Experience assembling full plan sets with minimal direction.
• Ability to perform advanced Civil 3D tasks, including generating surfaces, calculating cut/fill volumes, and creating corridors for street and drainage designs.
• Skilled in designing and calculating grades, drainage systems, and street layouts and integrating them into working plan sets.
• Experience managing project administrative tasks, including applying codes, navigating municipal submittals, and collaborating with clients or developers.
